One Sentence Game Review: Inscryption

June 02, 2026 in one sentence game review, video games

This game is like if a super fun deck builder had a baby with purgatory, a freaky-deaky escape room, a Super Nintendo, your dark student film project from 2011, and a robot—it’s weird and experimental and you have to love it for trying stuff and taking risks… or at least, I did.

screencap from Inscryption. A first-person POV of a person holing a hand of cards with animals on them, across a table where a pair of unsettling eyes watches them in shadow.

Inscryption, Devolver Games.
